About the university

DuocUC was founded in 1968 under the name “Worker Peasant University Department” in order to give free education to students from lower social backgrounds. Today, DuocUC has 17 campuses and almost 100,000 students. Located in Chile’s bustling, cosmopolitan capital city, Santiago, DuocUC offers students the opportunity to study tourism and hospitality in a world-class destination.

Santiago has become a modern city, with more than 6 million inhabitants, and it is the center of most of Chile’s cultural, economic, industrial and business activities. You can be skiing in one of its famous winter resorts or surfing in one of its internationally known beaches - all within about an hour. The city is home to the main administrative, commercial, cultural, financial and governmental entities of the country, that represent a huge part of the history of the city and the country, except for the National Congress, which is located in Valparaíso.
